Support Programme 02

Support for the pressure drivers often carry alone.

Practical, confidential wellbeing support for stress, low mood, isolation, burnout and the emotional demands of life on the road.

What life on the road can do

Mental health on the road is easy to hide. The pressure to keep moving and stay strong means a lot of drivers carry it in silence.

Long hours, time away from home, working alone for days and the constant pull of deadlines all add up. It can quietly turn into stress, low mood, poor sleep and burnout, and the vehicle is not always an easy place to admit that.

This support is built to be private, practical and easy to reach. It is not about labels or long forms. It is about having somewhere to turn, and simple things that help you feel steadier, before things build up further.

Alone

Drivers can spend days at a time working solo, with few chances for the everyday conversations most people rely on.

Hidden

Stress and low mood are often masked behind getting the job done, until they become harder to ignore.

Private

Knowing support is confidential is often the thing that makes it possible to reach out at all.

Private and human

You can keep moving and still ask for help

Reaching out does not mean stopping work or admitting defeat. It means giving the pressure somewhere to go, before it quietly turns into something heavier.

This support is built to be easy to reach and easy to trust. No labels, no long forms, just a confidential place to talk and practical steps that fit life on the road.

Who this is for

If any of this feels familiar, you are in the right place.

There is no threshold to cross. If something feels off, that is reason enough.

You spend long stretches alone and feel cut off from people close to you.

You feel flat, low or not yourself, even when nothing obvious is wrong.

You are running on empty and edging towards burnout.

Your sleep, mood or temper have changed and you cannot quite settle them.

You find it hard to switch off from the road when you finally get home.

You want somewhere private to turn before things build up any further.

Support that works for everyone

For drivers carrying it, and the fleets who care about them.

For drivers

A private place to put it down for a while.

You do not have to keep carrying everything on your own. This is confidential, human support that meets you where you are.

  • Completely confidential, with nothing shared without your say-so
  • No labels, no long forms and no pressure to talk before you are ready

  • Practical steps to reduce stigma and check in properly
  • Support for your wellbeing and duty of care commitments

What it is designed to improve

Small shifts that make the load lighter.

This is not a cure-all. It is steady, honest support that helps things feel more manageable.

Less carried alone

A confidential outlet, so the pressure has somewhere to go instead of building in silence.

Earlier awareness

Recognising stress, low mood and burnout sooner, when they are easier to do something about.

A way forward

Practical steps and clear signposting, so you always know where to turn next.

Steady, ongoing support

Small steps, taken alongside you

Feeling better rarely happens in one conversation. It happens through small, steady steps, with someone who understands the road beside you.

Questions, answered

Mental health & wellbeing FAQs

Is this support confidential?

Yes. Conversations are private and confidential. Nothing is shared with your employer or anyone else without your consent. The whole point is that you can speak openly.

Do I have to talk about everything straight away?

No. You set the pace. The support is there to help with whatever you are dealing with, in your own time, with no pressure to share more than you want to.

Is it normal to feel low or isolated doing this job?

Long hours, time away from home and working alone take a real toll. Feeling low, flat or isolated is far more common among drivers than people admit. You are not weak and you are not alone.

Will it affect my job or my licence?

No. Seeking support is a sign of looking after yourself, not a risk to your role. The support is private and is designed to help you stay well at work.

How can fleet managers and employers help?

Employers can offer confidential support, reduce stigma and check in properly with their drivers. We help fleets put practical, credible wellbeing support in place that drivers actually trust.

What if I need urgent help right now?

If you are struggling and need to talk to someone now, you can call Samaritans free on 116 123, day or night. If life is at immediate risk, call 999. This programme sits alongside that kind of support, not instead of it.
